LEAF: A Preview

Art & Culture

New kid on the block, LEAF: London Electronic Arts Festival, is a major city wide event taking place between 7th and 10th of November. Created and curated by Bestival founder and BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank, and music pioneer and International Music Summit creator Ben Turner, the festival takes place at numerous venues across London.

With the hub of the festival located at the historic Shoreditch Electric Light Station, there will be shows across the capital in some of Londons most revered

live music venues and warehouse spaces including: The Oval Space, The Forum, Village Underground and The Laundry.

On Thursday the 7th, the opening of LEAF will be celebrated by an opening party at the LEAF HUB (Shoreditch Electric Light Station) in association with Bugged Out and headling by Duke Dumont and Le Youth and off site by Trentemoller at The Forum and

The Bloody Beetroots at Village Underground.

On the night of Friday the 8th, Chris Liebing will play an extended set at The Laundry at a party in partnership with London Warehouse Events. Friday will also see Giorgio Moroder play at Oval Space amongst a whole host of other events during the day at the LEAF HUB, including an A to Z of Electronic Music by Daniel Miller and the Dinos Chapman Luftbobler AV Installation, a site specific, audio-visual installation of his much celebrated music project, Luftbobler. Featuring a series of short films made by the artist set to an electronic soundtrack composed by Chapman, the Luftbobler installation is an immersive surreal experience not to be missed.

Saturday will see a whole host of events held at the LEAF HUB again, including Molecules of Sound: An encounter with William Orbit, taking in gadgets, gizmos and molecules and Boilerroom will be hosting an exclusive event with Eats Everything, MK, Rob da Bank and Happa after which Oval Space will be holding a party headlined by Diplo who will have just stepped off the stage of his sold out Major Lazer show at Brixton Academy and taking you into the early hours of the morning.

Sunday will see the closing of the first inaugural London Electron Arts Festival and shown off in style by Omar Souleyman at The Laundry and a Beardyman closing party at Oval Space, where the innovative musician, performer and consummate showman will bring his Beardytron show to life.
