Art & Culture

The European premiere of ‘Bjork Digital’ is due to hit Somerset house from September 1st – October 23rd 2016. Bjork continues to push boundaries and blend art, as she mixes music and technology, showcasing never seen before work, an interactive educational space and innovative apps. Visitors have the chance to immerse themselves in her work through the use of virtual reality, using her interest with digital technology to add an extra dimension to her art. The exhibition will culminate in a one off performance at The Royal Albert Hall on the 21st September, her only UK gig this year, her last being Alexandra Palace 2013.

Bjork has openly expressed how she has been drawn to the intimacy of VR. The exhibition will include never seen before work of hers, along with a programme celebrating the repertoire of her 24 year career. The star will also showcase her immersive film, ‘Black Lake’, at the exhibition, commissioned by New York Museum of Modern Art, a panoramic visual, fimed in the highlands of Iceland.

Bjork has also been working with director, Jesse Kanda, on her film MouthMantra, an interactive intense virtual reality world of her mouth.
