House Of Vans Venue Opens With Zine Exhibition

Southbank is about to get another destination to cement its status as a creative mecca with the all new, House of Vans London set to open its doors. Designed as a creative hub the space is comprised of five arches hosting a skate park with concrete bowl, street and mini-ramp sections, artist studios, gig venue and space for talks and shows.
Vans are going big for the opening weekend with a series of live gigs, screenings, talks, exhibitions and of course, skateboarding, with demos from some special guests, this is a chance to see some real legends hit the bowl.
Skateboarding has always been a catalyst for DIY culture so in this vein the space opens with 'Scissors & Glue'; an exhibition and series of talks documenting the brief history of the 'zine. Expect appearances from the likes of Ben Drury, Gorm, Trevor Jackson and Louise Grey. You’ll also be able to get your hands on the first Vans 'Zine. Guest edited by Champ mag’s Monique Kawecki, a doyenne of DIY publishing.
