Chez Damier, Rodigan, Ez, Masters At Work & More For Southport

Art & Culture

Southport is the king of weekenders – a celebration of soul music in all it's forms that packs icons alongside fresh talent for a crowd of serious connoisseurs. Now past it's 25th year, the 52nd weekender has a big turn out from the US house contingent, with a headline (and increasingly rare) show from Louie Vega and Kenny Dope as Masters At Work, as well as an appearance from the Kings of House trio – Vega again, along with Tony Humphries and David Morales. Other house names include Joey Negro, Black Coffee and Chez Damier and Kerri Chandler back to back. The weekender has always welcomed UK talent, and this year sees veterans David Rodigan and Trevor Nelson, a live show from Nightmares on Wax, upfront bass from MistaJam, and an essential set from DJ EZ, who pretty much destroyed the festival with his incredible set on the 50th edition. Southport 52 takes place on May 8th- 10th at Butlins, Minehead. Tickets and more info over on the Southport website.
