Nightspot Cinema To Run Series Of Immersive Film & Club Events

Art & Culture

Nightspot Cinema are a collective who have hit on a simple, genius idea. Everyone knows that when you watch a film with an amazing soundtrack, you leave fiending to go and dance to the sounds on screen. So nomadic cinephiles Nightspot have done the obvious-  they've planned a series of screenings of films with iconic soundtracks, followed by DJs playing music from and related to the film.

The season kicks off with a showing of Elaine Constantine’s award winning 2014 doc Northern Soul. Screening in Bethnal Green's Working Mens Club, the film is followed by DJ’s including Soundwave Croatia, Feelings and So Fresh So Clean Residents playing a mixture Northern Soul, Motown, R&B, 80's Soul, Rare Groove, Disco, Hip Hop & Funk. Alongside this, there will be an opportunity to meet & greet cast, crew and dancers from the film, trade records at the swap shop, see a Bruce Lee inspired dance off and hear Ray Henderson’s cover ups. Nightspot are also letting it be known that anyone who pulls up on a Vespa or a Lambretta will get the full VIP treatment.

The event takes place on March 6th, with tickets starting at £10 for just the afterparty, and £20 for the whole event – find out more over at the Nightspot Cinema facebook page, and look out for some pretty special events they've got planned over the next few months…
