Dave Cloud 1965 – 2015: The Untimely Death Of A Musical Outsider

News has just reached us of the death of Dave Cloud, a unique outsider musician who has drawn comparisons to Captain Beefheart and Charles Bukowski in equal measure. Up to the time of his death from a short, unspecified illness, Cloud was working on new material for an album, titled with eerie prescience “Today Is The Day That They Take Me Away.” Playing with a band made up of members of Lamchop and Silver Jews, Cloud had recorded one single for the album, the swaggering heartbreak yowl of Down Down Down.
