Nintendo have finally announced details of their new hybrid games console. Switch will sit at home in a dock and connect directly to your full screen TV in hi-res while you play Mario and exclusive releases from the cartridge based system (old school). On the move? Then you can simply unplug from the dock and take the 16:9 screen tablet sized unit out and carry on playing. The console has two detachable mini-controllers ("Joy-Con") which can work in tandem on single player games, or independently for two-player gaming. Detailed specs are yet to be published, but the promo video also appears to show that console offers multiplayer wireless gaming across several units and featured Nintendo stalwarts Mario Kart and Zelda as well as Skyrim and NBA 2K17.
Nintendo Switch is due for release in March 2017.
