Single Review : Novelist – Sniper Ep

Novelist is one of the hypey-est new MCs out there, so I’m a bit disappointed this EP for Oil Gang is purely instrumental. It’s like making a Michael Jackson video where he doesn’t dance; alright and that, but a bit of a waste. That aside, this EP is pretty good – 4 tracks of grime 2.0 meanness with varying degrees of anger. The lead track ‘Sniper’ has been knocking around on dubplate for a year or so now, so it's nice to see it finally become chart eligable. No doubt it's more-gunshots-than-an-NRA-nuts-funeral approach to percussion will have it straight on the Radio 1 daytime playlist…
