Premiere: Sophie Du Palais – Boys Tears

The silence was unbearable, you could cut through the tension with a knife. Staring at one another in disgust had been replaced with eyes fixed firmly on the floor; they had nothing left to say, nothing that hadn’t been screamed and unheard a thousand times before. There was no room for manipulation, blackmail or tears now, the damage had been done, and that was something they’d have to sit with for the rest of their lives. 

Amsterdam-based vocalist and performer Sophie Du Palais AKA Vrouwe Fataal has previously wowed listeners with her commanding ‘fetish-inclined’ vocals on acclaimed releases for Pinkman and Dekmantel Recordings.

Following a solo production outing last year via Hague-based imprint traumgarten’s debut compilation, Sophie offers up her debut solo LP ‘Endurance of Pain is the Power of Being’ for B.F.E. Records. Across the six tracks, Sophie explores themes of lust, hedonism, technological obsession and millennial alienation, leading the charge with her sinister and untamed vocals that sit on a bed of electronics that pull from EBM, acid, techno, industrial and wave.
