Premiere: San Proper & D. – Licks & Tech

The day had taken a strange turn; this wasn’t at all what he’d signed up for. Meticulous planning and organised fun was the name of the game, no deviating from the norm — that only increased his anxiety. The morning ran smoothly; up at 7:15, yoga, shower, breakfast. But as he was settling into his work there was a loud knock at the door. He wasn’t expecting anybody… 

Amsterdam DJ and producer San Proper’s reputation proceeds him. His minimal yet melodic productions have found their way to labels like Dekmantel, Perlon, Rush Hour and his own imprint Proper’s Cult. Now he makes his debut on local label Musar Recordings with Home, a collaborative release alongside long-time affiliate, producer and drummer D. Together the pair explore house and all its quirks, moving through leftfield percussion, deep rhythmic drumwork and subtle guitar riffs paired with Proper’s cursive vocals.
