THE JUAN MACLEAN – HERE I AM (TUFF CITY KIDS REMIX INSTRUMENTAL) – DFA
Nothing gets you clean like a Juan Maclean clean and it looks as though your ears could do with a good old fashioned cleansing – have you even washed them since that time you went to that party and that girl (at least you think she was a girl) put her finger covered in mustard in there? Those things look filthy and they could really do with all that dirt being flushed out.
Fortunately there's a brand new product on the market from The Juan Maclean that's been made in conjunction with the ever-reliable Tuff City Kids that'll have your ears feeling like they were cleaned by clouds themselves. We all know just how much you need this so, please, for all our sakes, pop this in your ears and do the right thing;
Here I Am (Remixes) is out on 25th September via DFA.
SPECTRES – SEA OF TREES (RICHARD FEARLESS REMIX)
If you go down to the woods today you're sure for a big surprise. Rather than accidentally stumbling into a group of bears having a picnic, which is obviously ridiculous, you'll find yourself being haunted by a selection of electronic sounds that feel someone out of place in this leafy realm. That's because Richard Fearless has taken his equipment down into the woods so that he can surround himself in a sea of trees while working on a remix, coincidentally of a track named 'Sea Of Trees', by Spectres.
Listen in as Mr Fearless takes you so far into the woods that you wouldn't want to leave your new wood-based home. We think this is an absolute corker and we reckon you'll agree;
Sea Of Trees/Sink is out on 25th September via Sonic Cathedral.
DOLLKRAUT – MASTERMASTER / BRUCE WAYNE
Dollkraut's grainy, fuzzy sound turned heads last year with the release of his first LP, 'Schimanski's Black Lullabies'. Last year also saw him inaugurate the Dutch label Charlois with his 'Blackbox' EP, which he's following up with the release of 'Hornet Green' on 1st October. POW! To celebrate the upcoming release, we're bringing you the first TWO tracks from the EP right here and we thought it would only be fair to have a chat with Dollkraut as well to give us an insight into his world;
ZOMBIES IN MIAMI – BLACK PURPLE (MARVIN & GUY BLACK REMIX)
If you were to wake up one morning to be told that there were Zombies in Miami, how would you respond? Provided that you're not in the vicinity of Florida it would be quite easy just to sit at home in front of the telly, scoffing down handfuls of crisps as you slowly realise that you're not watching The Walking Dead but that Huw Edwards was just reading the news as several beads of sweat ran down his forehead.
Surely it's only a matter of time before the zombies manage to master the art of crafting rafts – assuming that air travel is a little beyound their intelligence – and they make it over to the UK in order to spread despair and havoc. But they haven't quite arrived yet, so it'll probably be fine. Instead of worrying, stick this great remix from Marvin & Guy of 'Black Purple' in your ears and enjoy the wonders of sound;
Black Purple is out on 25th September via Correspondant.
Jack Pattern – Fault Dizziness
The worlds of surrealism and dadaism are lost on most people – they're so often dismissed as being 'a bit weird' or for 'not making sense' by those among us who have no time for the likes of anything that doesn't follow a particularly obvious pattern. However, somewhat confusingly Jack Pattern is a big fan of all things surreal and his new sounds that make up the debut release on XXX are a glimpse into the wonders of the surreal.
We thought we'd try out something a little different with Mr Pattern and his glorious aural offering so we ask him to come up with a poem consisting only of letters within his name. Because we can, that's why. Have a read of what he came up with – we think it's rather good;
FAULT DIZZINESS CAN DO STUFF:
CAN EAT A TEA.
CAN TAKE A CAKE.
CAN JAR A CAPTAN.
CAN ATTACK A TERRA.
CANT NAP A CAT.
CAN EARN A PAR-T.
CAN JACK AN EAR.
CAN CRACK A PATTERN.
TAKE TAT NACKTE TANTE!
Here are your sounds then;
XXX 001 is out on 22nd September via XXX.
GARY MARTIN – MOOGY MANK (MOTECH RECORDS)
When first confronted with the title of these new sounds from Gary Martin there was a unanimous reaction through the various corridors and chambers at R$N Towers – what in the world is a 'Moogy Mank'? Though not one of us was able to come up with a definitive answer all sorts of ideas were banded around.
The most commonly believed of which, though surely not true, is that it's the name of a synthesiser obsessed gentleman from the North-West of England who wanders the streets attempting to emulate the sounds of a Mini-Moog. Unfortunately, these antics have resulted in him scaring off several passer-bys and on multiple occasions he's found himself having to flee from the powers that be.
But that's just a load of old nonsense, right? Just be careful when you're in Manchester if you start hearing some eerily electronic sounds coming from a man in an overcoat. Anyway, here are some delightful sounds for you;
Escape From South Warren is out on 5th October via Motech.
KEVIN MCPHEE – TW (WEST NORWOOD CASSETTE LIBRARY REMIX)
The letters 'TW' could stand for all manner of things. Perhaps they refer to that rarely-visited theme park designed specifically for those among us that tower over others (Tall World), or that new magazine that's specifically focused on the actions of the rear-ends of cats and dogs (Tails Weekly) or maybe it's a tribute to our very own Tonka's Friday round-up of the what he's been up to (Tonka's Week).
While we'll never know the true answer, as we haven't really looked for it in all honesty, we can enjoy delving into our own minds to come up with all sorts of peculiar word combinations as we fill our ears with this incredible infectious remix from West Norwood Cassette Library of the new sounds from Kevin McPhee. Whatever it is these letters stand for, we know that you're going to have a good time when you stick this in your lugs.

TW is out now on vinyl and on 25th September digitally via WNCL Recordings.
BLACK SPUMA – BLACK SPUMA (INTERNATIONAL FEEL)

CIRCULA – THE HAZE (TOKYO WAX)
Life wouldn't be any fun if everything we did and everyone we knew was squeaky clean, that's why we need to indulge in something with some scuzzy undertones every once in a while to make sure that our daily routine doesn't become a bore. By stepping out of the clean, filtered air and into 'The Haze' we can give our body that much-needed injection of something from the wrong side of the tracks.
The deep, unending darkness that you can find – if you know where to look for it – doesn't bring the despair that you might think, in fact it gives us a much needed balance between light and dark that's necessary for even the most basic survival. So knock over a chair or two, put your middle finger up at a priest and descend into Circula's world of 'The Haze'…
But don't actually put your middle finger up at a priest, that would just be rude;
Lunar Visions is out on 12th October via Tokyo Wax.
FREE DOWNLOAD: DAVE HARGADON – SOLACE
Remember when getting something for free meant you had something to pop in your pocket and take home with you after a long day of playing outside in the glorious sunshine? Alright, we're exaggerating for effect here but we all surely remember that wonderful feeling that only comes when something hasn't cost you a penny and you're able to hold it firmly in your hands and call it yours.
Sadly the day of the physical world seems to be tearing away from us BUT there are still plenty of free things to be had that are well worth getting your hands on – such as this beauty of a track from Dave Hargadon which you're able to download for less than a penny right here. It might not be quite the same as having something in your hands but we reckon you'll love this just as much;
LDRX2 is out now via Lunar Disko.
SIMONE GATTO & HAIKU – MITTAGWACHS (RAW WAXES)
It's Sunday night, there's nothing on the TV because the latest series of Dragon's Den has finished and you're running out of time before heading back to the office tomorrow morning so you want something to get you through the last few throws of the weekend. You NEED something to be able to brag about to your co-workers in the morning to let them know that you're as cool as Top Cat with all the fashion skills of Mr Benn.
Maybe you should try impressing them with your knowledge of these new sounds from Simone Gatto & Haiku as, unless they too are avid R$N readers, you'll be ahead of the curve on this one because you knew the right thing to do was frantically sit at home refreshing the homepage in the hope that you could be the very first person to listen to every last drop of sound. That's right, we've been watching you.
That's how we know you're going to enjoy this – and how we know that you're glad we didn't just try writing this whole thing in haikus, because we very nearly did;
Sonntagnacht is out on 28th September via Raw Waxes.
LOS GATOS ESCOBAR FEAT. AK – NANA (NOCTURNO MIX)
If everyone's Nana was as cool as the maternal grandparents of Los Gatos Escobar then we might be hearing several more sounds coming in with a family-friendly vibe. Imagine if the streets at night were filled with the sounds of elderly people showing off their moves to sounds that have hypnotised and mesmerised them into thinking that they need to continue to dance in order to survive.
Though that might not be the worst ever pitch for a film, it doesn't quite do Nocturno's mix of the new sounds from Los Gatos Escobar featuring AK justice as this something you're going to have to put on repeat throughout the day to ensure they get the love they deserve. Yes, we realise that Los Gatos means cats – that didn't have anything to do with our decision on snapping up this beauty but it does definitely sweeten the deal.
Get your aural cats on;
Nanà is out on 28th September via Trafico Music.
DURA – INDIGOFERMA (BLANKSTAIRS)
Indigo is probably the most under-rated colour of the rainbow, it doesn't seem to receive anywhere near as much love as red, blue or those other jammy colours. There's very little wrong with indigo, in fact it seems to bring an added level of class to a room when there's a healthy dose of it spattered across the walls of floor.
These new sounds from Dura are just as classy and they make for twenty minutes of beautiful, ambient listening. There's plenty of time in your day to set enough aside to slip seamlessly into the world of 'Indigoferma' and you'll find yourself feeling significantly more alive for having done so. Go on, give yourself that chill-out you both need and deserve;
Living Color is out on 13th October via Blankstairs – pre-order it here.
LRUSSE – PLUSONES (MONOLOGUES)
Having a plus one for any kind of event has now become so commonplace that if you're left alone to fend for yourself in one of these social situations where people are being all pally-wally and you've not got a trusty companion by your side it can all get a bit much. Have no fear though, this definitely is the age of the +1 and we can be thankful that there's always going to be someone by our side to hold our hand when we need them most.
It seems as though Lrusse understands this need for companionship and these new sounds are named after those most trusted of advisors who are gaining the respect and acknowledgement they so rightly deserve. Here's the ode to them;
Ynyslas is out on 28th September via Monologues.
ALARMIST – SAFARISOGOOD
When someone takes it upon themselves to do something clever with the name of their track it takes away from this bit where we try and be really obscure, obtuse and hopefully somewhere on the hilarious spectrum. Still, we can't fault Alarmist for labelling this slice of math-rock (yes, this is what rock has come to apparently) as 'Safarisogood' and in truth we're just jealous that they thought of it.
They've even gone for top press shots by just posing eating bread, lets see more DJs taking photos of themselves eating basic foods – it could lead for a stream of spaghetti-based intrigue. But that's about enough of our waffling, there's a lot of "jazz-infused math-rock, warped experimental pop melodies and brutalist slabs of pulsing electronics" to be had so go give this a spin;
Popular Demain is out on 2nd November via Small Pond Recordings.
