Premiere: bdrmm – A Reason To Celebrate (GLOK Remix)

He never could decide what shoes to wear. As he looked at the different combinations of leather tongues, “why am I even going out?” he mutters to himself, a revelation that often gets overlooked. Black pumps. Already half cut from three leftover fosters from the night before, he steps outside into the moody sunset. The last rays of sunshine, grasping onto the symmetrical grids of suburban rooftops. As repetitive as this walk is, it never gets old. The full excitement of what could happen is enough to make him leave the sanctuary he calls ‘home’. He pulls the final four percent from his fifteen pound jacket. He loves this jacket. For this particular occasion, he ALWAYS chooses this jacket. Jazz. The walk turns into a two-step shuffle between him and the pavement. The sun has finally set. Car headlights take over now.

Bdrmm are gearing up for the release of their new single ‘A Reason To Celebrate’, which has been given a rework on the flip by Ride guitarist Andy Bell. Under his GLOK guise, he turns the anthemic shoegaze of the original into some previously undiscovered middle ground between underrated 4AD outfit Ultra Vivid Scene and the late, great Andrew Weatherall.

The original version of ‘A Reason To Celebrate’ is taken from bdrmm’s debut album Bedroom, which is released on July 3. Buy HERE
