8 Tracks: That Rocked The Rye Wax Basement With Tasty Treats

Music

Tasty Treats is a monthly house night founded by South London selectors DJ Morris and Tea Es G. Every month they fill the intimate Rye Wax basement with warm vibes, digging deep into their vaults for house selections that make the party nice. They kicked off 1 year ago with the expert DJ Brian Not Brian and have since had luminaries such as Luca Lozano, Placid and Danny P.

To celebrate their 1st birthday, DJ Morris and Tea Es G provided a selection of 8 tracks that have rocked the Rye Wax basement over the past 12 months.

Pal Joey from 1990, back before disco loops were cool! We both have a copy of this one, PLO Man also knows whats up, well and truly a Tasty Treats classic.

  • Sweet House Chicago - Mickey Oliver - I Need A Beat

Mickey Oliver – I Need A Beat (To Turn Me On)
Always find myself humming this in the days following one of our parties, one of the smoothest house vocals all the way from 88’!

  • Brian Briggs - Aeo (Part 1 & 2)

    Brian Briggs – Aeo (Part 1 & 2)
Sounds lovely in basements and lofts alike!

  • Agent-X - Dig This

    Agent X – Dig This
Discogs people are sleeping on this one. Agent X and Mad Mike, DJ Morris bargain bin find, 4 in the morning mainstay

  • Krisp - Fraktor

    Krisp – Farlige Fiffus
One of Tea Es G’s favourite records, always gets an underwhelming response…has yet to rock the basement..

  • Slick - Space Bass

    Slick – Space Bass
Brian Not Brian beat DJ Morris to this one at our first party, went off like a treat. Be on the look-out for a repeat of said party in the not so distant future!

  • Dj Rasoul - True Science

    DJ Rasoul – True Science
A personal highlight of Placid’s set when he played at the party last november. The scratching makes you sound like a way better DJ
