Sina XX is a Paris-based DJ, producer, and label founder known for his uncompromising, high-intensity approach to techno.

Cutting his teeth in the raw, DIY rave culture of Paris, Sina XX co-founded the collective Subtyl in 2012 — a platform that helped redefine alternative nightlife in the city. In 2020, he launched Body to Body, a record label and creative space dedicated to hard-edged, emotionally charged techno with a collaborative ethos.

His approach to DJ’ing see’s him channel elements of techno, bass and beyond with fast paced transitions and dynamic energy.

Born to Iranian political refugees, his music is as much about identity as it is about energy — channeling both the spirit of resistance and the pulse of the underground.

We invited Sina to put together a playlist of records which he feels carry a depth and message and he’s nominated tracks by the likes of Blake Baxter, Octave One, Underground Resistance and more.

All good stuff.

Cassy – Never Give Up On A Mood Swing (Fünf)

This track literally saved my life — and probably my career, too. Every time shit hit the fan (and trust me, it did), I’d think back to that title: Never Give Up On A Mood Swing. Cassy reminded me that it’s okay to ride the waves, to keep moving through the chaos. Eternal gratitude for that one.

  • The Other People Place – Let Me Be Me

One of the first electro tracks I ever heard as a late teen — and it hit deep. The simplicity of that lyric, let me be me, mirrored everything I was feeling at the time. It’s still a mantra I carry into the booth today.

  • Blake Baxter – Brothers Gonna Work It Out (Brothapella)

I love using vocals to open my sets, and this feels special — especially around Pride Month. The message is powerful, raw, and beautifully human. And that delivery — sensual, confident, a little kinky — reminds us that respect is sexy.

  • Rebecca Delle Piane – Ammore (Bpitch)

Because love is everything. I adore how “Ammore” unfolds like a mantra — hypnotic, tender, and fierce all at once.

  • Underground Resistance – Transition

A timeless techno sermon — few records manage to sound this urgent and this spiritual. “Transition” isn’t just a track; it’s a rite of passage. Make your transition.

  • Octave One – Blackwater

A soulful classic that feels like sunrise after a long night. I often close with this one — there’s something magical about the way it lifts the room, leaving everyone a little lighter.

  • Rene Wise – Relax

Sometimes one word says it all: relax. A minimalist bomb that reminds you to loosen up, trust the groove, and just breathe.

  • Sina XX – Landing In Baghdad

I produced my first EP between Beirut and Tehran, and during one of those trips, I met a music scholar who told me the meaning of my name: “the Iraqi-style musician.”

Later, I discovered that my great-grandfather was a court musician during the Qajar era, performing Iraqi-style compositions with their own scales and instruments. It took me nearly five years to explore that lineage and weave it naturally into my sound. “Landing In Baghdad” is that story told through techno — a meeting of cultures, rhythms, and identities that never compromises one or the other.
