Is It Balearic – Influences

Music

Is It Balearic? have been putting out top dollar music for the last 7 years. Helmed by Timmo and Ampo who also make up Coyote, they’ve steadily churned out slabs of the good stuff from the likes of Max Essa, The Deadstock 33s and The Hardway Brothers, most of it swathed in a particular chugging, slo mo fug. There’s a full label love piece on the site herecompetition and below are their influences for R$N TV.

L.U.P.O - Keep It Up

Timm: This captures the whole vibe for me. Floored me the first time I heard it and is still one of my alltime favourite tracks. Impossibly Balearic.

  • L.U.P.O - Keep It Up

Timm: This captures the whole vibe for me. Floored me the first time I heard it and is still one of my alltime favourite tracks. Impossibly Balearic.

  • Sisterlove - The Hypnotist

Timm: This is a track that influenced me massively when it comes to sampling. I used to listen to this post session on the headphones when I got in. Deep.

  • L.A.N.D.R.O. & Co. - Belo E Sambar

Timm: Just always loved this. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face and makes you want to dance.

  • New Fast Automatic Daffodils Big (baka)

Ampo: Gated vocals, great bassline, eastern percussion, repetitive flute, such a groove, and different at the time has its own style. Identity BALEARIC.

  • Erwin Van Moll The Great Lover

Ampo: The perfect downtempo chillout track, beautiful strings, and lazy percussion, and a thick bassline. This track is a big influence on IIB.

  • Dobre & Jamez - 51 Days Paper Moon

Ampo: Proper deep house. Very sexy spoken word sample, amazing strings, say no more.

  • D Rail- Bring It On Down

Ampo: Italian House, feel good classic. Hip House at its best.

  • Rune Lindbk - Junta Jger

Ampo: The Norway genius. Slo mo deep disco at its finest. Love it.
