8 Tracks: To Help Find Your Inner Rabbit Hole with Sensible Seelen

Music

Sensible Seelen was launched in 2018, a fresh faced party in the German capital of Berlin amidst a cluttered and robust landscape burgeoning with creativity and musicality. Founded by Tim, Rebecca and Pete last summer the venture has since evolved into a record label whilst retaining it's credibility amidst dancers from the local scene. Tim and Pete are Khshathra and DJ Küsse respectively and have collaborated on a release which sits somewhere between a full length LP and a collection of club focussed tracks. Khshathra has never previously released music whilst Dj Küsse has appeared previously on Born Free Records and has worked as half of the exciting duo Hi & Saberhägen.

The new release is a subtle yet animated blend of house music, melancholy and moody soundscapes reminiscent of the abstract playfulness of Dj Koze or early Flying Lotus.

We invited the pair of them to enter their inner rabbit hole and together they have curated a playlist of music which helps establish their singular sound…

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - "When I Try, I'M Full"

The first hint of a different/new world inside the rabbit hole is slowly emerging, or at least that’s how I’d picture it, listening to the soft modular, morphing sounds and distorted voices.

  • Finis Africae - El Secreto De Las 12

Lie down, close eyes, lift off. The rabbit hole can be a frightening place but this little gem will keep you grounded.

  • Keith Fullerton Whitman - Feedback Zwei

If your refrigerator has a soundtrack to it’s dreams, this must surely be it.

  • Margaret Dygas - Missing You Less

At what point did you realise this isn’t just another bland 00s Minimal tribute?

  • Randomer - Spooky Hermann

Trippy music is not necessarily trippy in an all peaceful and friendly way. Turning towards darker spheres during the inner sound voyage can be quite fascinating.

  • Ross 154 - Iniquity's Den

Constant drones hold this piece together but with every other element dipping in and out you are left with a 14-minute blissed-out trip of madness.

  • Plo Man - Tx-I

Organic and voice-like sounds, a constantly growing soundscape and increasing dynamic make this track just a perfect entrance to one’s inner rabbit hole.

  • Donato Dozzy - "Quadra Nove"

Would you really be surprised to see Dozzy hanging out with the Cheshire Cat?
