8 Tracks Of Dissolution – Eric Volta

As the title suggests. Days have gone by in my life and I return to this delicate fragile composition and it somehow removes me from my position and reminds me that even though the world may seem like it is falling apart one can have find a calm & peaceful moment.

This one was discovered while plummeting into a K-hole at an after party in Dublin many years ago. The moment couldn’t have been more poignant as it descended with me into a nonsensical & confusing wonderland. I surface from my trip crawling to the decks with the biggest smile demanding to know what this record was.

Pärt & The Kronos Quartet have come together on numerous pieces where the strings move you in cascading harmonic simplicities. Each layer falling upwards and onto each other.

My favourite film from my favourite film maker – John Carpenter, writes, directs, films, edits AND scores most of his films. One of the exceptions being this score from Moricone. The trust within a group of arctic scientists dissolves into dissidence with everyone turning on each other at the hands of a shape-shifting alien.

This is one of my favourite pieces of music to smoke DMT with. As my body lets my consciousness go and the physical world around starts to dissolve wonderfully crafted synths trickle onto water beads my soul carried gentle across the universe like a baby cradled in the most loving and warmest arms.

One of those records you will always remember when you first heard it. Always remember that someone out there vocalized your hurt & isolation so on point it became the anthem of your melancholia.

In memory of all those special crazy bursts of energy in this world who fizzled out too soon.
