8 Tracks: For The Car With Dj Hell

Music

There are very few whom can claim to have played as influential a role as the infamous Dj Hell. Introduced to obscure experimental electronics during the 1960's and 1970's he steadily began to acquire a taste for nightlife and club culture. He pioneered a new wave of techno producers during the early nineties and has released music on an array of prominent labels including R&S, Sativae and Magnetic North. However, it was his own International Deejay Gigolo Records upon which he built a firm foundation for his signature sound. Next month he will release a brand new album on the label, his first in a significant spell.

We caught up with him ahead of the release to talk eight.

„Zukunftsmusik“ is out on the 9th of June, follow him on Facebook HERE

Snakefinger "The Model"

There is something special, rare and psychedelic about Snakefinger. His cover of Kraftwerk’s “The Model” is perfect for a sunny walk.

  • Balanescu Quartet - Life And Death

The Balanescu Quartet is a string quartet founded in 1987 by Alexander Balanescu that achieved fame through the release of several complex cover versions of songs by Kraftwerk.

  • Liaisons Dangereuses - Kess Kill Fe Show

One of the best electronic albums of all time. Vocals from Krishna Goineau in French, Spanish, German, and a fractured gaggle of broken english make this romantic album the perfect partner for travelling.

  • Kraftwerk Spiegelsaal

Kraftwerk’s anthem, deep lyrics and even deeper melody for a night road trip.

  • Daf - Der Räuber Und Der Prinz 1981

One of the most iconic german elektropunk bands. In interviews they claimed to not target anything or anyone specific while creating lyrics to be taken as a parody of words and phrases floating around in the public media.

  • Blondie - Rapture

This groovy sexy track from Blondie was the first rap video ever broadcast on MTV. Really powerful 80’s banger for your car.

  • Young Marble Giants - Brand New Life

Any track from the first album of Young Marble Giants ”Colossal Youth” is highly recommended for a roadtrip.

  • Dj Hell - Car Car Car

”A car is not just a car, it is a home”. My new single Car car car from my upcoming album Zukunftsmusik, a tribute to Kraftwerk as well.
