Woodkid & Nils Frahm Releasing Mini Album Featuring Robert De Niro

Woodkid and Nils Frahm are releasing a mini-LP for the short film 'Ellis' featuring film legend Robert De Niro. Directed by acclaimed and unknown artist JR the film tells the story of the 12 million immigrants whose first introduction to the US was Ellis Island, the gateway to America. The strings and harmonium are accompanied by the narration of De Niro. The film will be screened at the Barbican Centre as part of Nils Frahm weekender on 2nd July with the album released shortly afterwards. In Nils words: “The opportunity to work on JR´s fantastic short film ELLIS came through my good friend Yoann aka Woodkid. We agreed on recording the piano parts in my studio in Berlin and so it happened that JR and Woodkid were guests at Durton studio on a wonderful late summers day in 2015. We managed to record all the crucial elements that day. The music fell into our laps and melted with the images: a wonderful experience. The film has stuck in my head ever since; it moved my heart and changed my soul."
