Warm Digits Collaborate With Field Music On New Track Ahead Of Forthcoming Album

Electronic duo Warm Digits (AKA Newcastle-based Andrew Hodson and Steve Jefferis) have signed a deal with Memphis Industries and the first fruits of this partnership have been released. 'End Times' features label mates Field Music, with the dance-punk elements associated with many artists from the North East. The new album, loosely themed around "a present-day that teeters between celebration and devastation", is in the works for release later this year. Warm Digits' set up of live drums, guitar and electronics are reminiscent of Kraut/ Kosmische legends Neu! and Kraftwerk, leading Andrew Weatherall to describe them as “Machine funk kraut-a-delia". The duo feature alongside Field Music and Bob Stanley at the Barbican this weekend, performing a live soundtrack for 'Asunder', Esther Johnson’s film exploring the devastating effects of World War One on a small town in the North East of England.
