U-Zet Reveals New Soul Groovers Ep
Based in Durban, U-ZET is a young producer on whom the internet has little information, but what we do know is that this EP entitled Soul Groovers is a selection of tracks he made in highschool. His previous Soundcloud offerings have been a variety of tribal and deep, eclectic house with a theme of organic sounding percussion running through a lot of it.
'Ithunzi', from the EP, takes a slightly more threatening turn as the percussive samples are made up of metallic clinks and the jingling of broken glass, samba whistles sound disconcertingly sinister, and distant chants keep a military beat. With low slung hiphop pace but the spikey aggression reminiscent of grime, the sound is pretty distinctive.
