Thomas Ankersmit Announces New Album ‘Homage To Dick Raaijmakers’
The Dutch musician and installation artist Thomas Ankersmit has announced the release of his fifth full-length album, entitled Homage To Dick Raaijmakers and slated for a release sometime in September on Shelter Press. Following 2014's Figueroa Terrace, it's the artist's first LP in four years.
Ankersmit is known as one of the foremost experts in the Serge Modular Synthesizer, so this largely experimental new body of work arrives at a time of peaking interest in modular synthesis. Homage To Dick Raaijmakers was inspired by the legendary Dutch composer/electronic and tape music pioneer/multimedia artist of the same name, more specifically his music from the 1960s, his texts on sound composition such as Cahier M, and his notes on his own music.
Homage To Dick Raaijmakers is out via Shelter Press this September.
