Everybody’s favourite East London boozer The Gun have annouced the launch of their new in-house label with ‘Gun Aid’, a V/A LP that features 16 card-carrying life members of the pub.

Ahead of the release of the entire 14-track LP in April, The Gun will share four tracks from the release in the form of an EP aptly titled ‘Time At The Vortex’, with a share of the profits from this record going to local families via charity Hackney Quest.

The four tracker features music from Daniel Avery, GLOK, Scott Fraser and Cherrystones, while the whole LP brings other extended family, staff members and resident DJs into the fold including Nitzer Ebb, Roisin Murphy, Mondowski, Ivan Smagghe, C.A.R. and Nathan Gregory Wilkins and Quinn Whalley’s new Mister Deltoid project.

Over the years The Gun has built a reputation for its ability to balance between being a ‘real’ pub and running an impressive music programming, playing host to DJs like Vladimir Ivkovic, Manfredas, Jaye Ward and Kris Baha – just a sliver of those who have graced the decks.

‘Time At The Vortex’ will be released on 12th March and the Gun Aid LP will be available from 2nd April on vinyl and 2nd May digitally.
