Sometime Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess has been working on a new record with New York based producer Peter Gordon. Gordon's got a serious pedigree, having previously worked with Arthur Russell and The Love Of Life Orchestra. Together the duo have made Same Language, Different Worlds- which, based on the first track we've heard is going to be soething of an understated kraut-dance classic. The first single releasde from the album, Begin, has been given a typically synthetic remix from ex-Throbbing Gristle-rs Carter Tutti - listen to that below. Good as it is, we're actually more taken with Temperature High, an original from the album that saunters along on a languid, barely bothered beat, horns tootling on the edges, bas squelching down the middle, Burgess breathing over the track and sounding better than he has since the early 90s. Listen to both below.
Same Language Different Worlds is released on September 2nd on vinyl, digital and CD
