Soum Records to reissue EP from Om Kalsoum
Radio Martiko have been hard at work over the festive period. The Ghent based imprint have recently announced the launch of a new sub-label Soum Records. To kickstart the new venture, the Belgian label has conducted yet more sonic archaeology, re-issuing the work of esteemed Egyptian artist Om Kalsoum. The “Queen of the Nile” is known as one of her nation’s greatest ever singers, and her music continues to move listeners even today. Originally recorded in 1969, Alf Leila Wa Leila consists of two tracks, the original recording and a studio version of the same song.
Out on the 21st December, find out more information and grab a copy at the Soum Bandcamp HERE.
