Ransom Note Records Shop To Open In Forest Gate This Weekend

“For some reason, we thought it would be a good idea to open a record shop. So here we are.”

In the latest instalment of our seemingly never-ending quest to send ourselves under for good, we've taken the stupid brave decision to dive headfirst into the murky world of the record shop! Teaming up with long-term collaborator Aiden d’Araujo – you already know him as author of House Hunting and purveyor of the finest wax crack known to man – we're flinging open the doors of the Ransom Note Records shop to the good people of East London next weekend! The launch party takes place from 12pm on 2nd December, click here to RSVP.

Drawing on Aiden's extensive knowledge of electronic history – honestly, what this man doesn’t know about dance music isn’t worth knowing – the shop will feature a lovingly curated supply of second-hand House, Techno, Hi-NRG, Italo, New Wave, Synth, Boogie, Disco, Funk and Soul. You’ll also be able to find all of our releases on Ransom Note Records, plus constantly updated stock from a carefully selected batch of our favourite labels.

Situated in a brand new railway arch space in Forest Gate, the shop will also be home to resident Turntable Technician Neil Macey, the man for all your deck surgery needs. Hugely experienced in the field, Neil has set up and designed systems across the globe, and bought and sold more records than we’ve ever seen.

Ransom Note Records can be found at Arch 432 Avenue Road, Wanstead Park, E7 0JH – just a few minutes walk from Forest Gate or Wanstead Park stations. We can't wait to welcome you all inside for some top notch crate diggin' action!
