New Gorillaz Album To Be Unveiled Tonight

Gorillaz will be unveiling their new album tonight on Radio 1, and it looks set to be their biggest collaborative effort yet. Though just how much will be played is still unknown.

In January, Gorillaz released their first song in six years, titled Hallelujah Money it featured the English poet and musician, Benjamin Clementine. A month later the apparent official tracklist had been leaked — cue everyone losing their s**t — and talk of an impending album release gained frantic momentum.

If the leaked tracklist is to be taken accurately then the album will feature a huge and varied cast of vocal performers including previous collaborators De La Soul, as well as, Grace Jones, Vince Staples, Jamie Principle, Pusha T & Kalela, Danny Brown, Kali Uchis, Carly Simon Benjamin Clementine and more. Although still very much hearsay, it’s an abundant looking prospect from the virtual band.

The premiere will take place on Mistajam’s evening show from approximately 7pm tonight. Although there is no confirmed release date for the album, Gorillaz have released their first live dates, in the form of their own festival called Demon Dayz, taking place at Banksy’s Margate located Dreamland Amusement Park.
