New Compilation Features Malawian Field Recordings And Edits

Beating Heart has announced the release of its first compilation album which is expected early next month. ‘Malawi’ is a mix of Malawian field recordings collected by ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey between the 1920s to the 1970s, which have been remixed by producers such as Throwing Shade and Ibibio Sound Machine. Special permission to access the archive was given to Beating Heart as money raised will go directly to the Garden to Mouth project in Malawi. Profits from the 500 records sold will fund an ecological farming project intended to provide 500 meals a day for the local community.
