Mannequin Records have released a comprehensive double LP that charts the work of System 01, the legendary techno duo made up of Johnny Klimek & Paul Browse.

Collecting work made between 1990 and 1994, including tracks from their debut EP From Psychodelics To Cybernetics through to their most revered LP on Tresor, Drugs Work, the double LP presents their singular sound that fused acid basslines, stripped back 808 and 909 rhythms and movie samples.

The artwork was created by Ian Anderson of The Designers Republic, who was behind the original artwork for Drugs Work. The Sheffield-based studio are widely known for their work with Warp Records including the designs for the most iconic releases of Aphex Twin and Autechre.

System 01 were Melbourne-hailing producer/bassist Johnny Klimek and Sheffield-born Paul Browse, a founding member of Clock DVA. Joining forces in Berlin, as both System 01 and Effective Force the pair established a new sound in the German capital which forms releases on Interfisch and Tresor.

System 01 – System 01 (1990-1994) is out now on Mannequin Records.
