Lena Willikens and Sarah Szczesny have collaborated on Phantom Kino Ballett, an assemblage of performance, installation, soundtrack and video, for RVNG INTL-affiliated art space Commend's 'Commend See' series. In short, it's a performance, installation, soundtrack and video conceived of and mixed by Lena Willikens and Sarah Szczesny.
Putting an emphasis on collectability, the soundtrack to the piece will also be released on a run of 15 vinyl pieces and 300 cassettes. The cassette edition includes a 40-minute addendum called Passage Transkript, a soundscape created by Willikens & Szczesny inspired by their time in Kyoto, Japan in the autumn of 2017. Live presentations of the 'audiovisual drama' will also take place on the following dates:
September 13, 2018 – Phi Centre – Montréal, Canada
September 19, 2018 – Issue Project Room – New York, NY
