Jose Mauro’s “Obnoxious” Lp To Be Reissued

Music

Originally released in 1970, the record has become a favourite of the likes of Floating Points, Antal and Gilles Peterson. "Obnoxious" sees Jose Mauro wax lyrical about the state of politics in Brazil during a time of censorship, dictatorship and an aggressive government. It's reissue now seems fitting given the current political climate and landscape of Brazil following the recent 2016 Olympics and its various controversies. Through poetic soul and expertly crafted music Jose Mauro captures a time in sound which is at present as relevant as it was some forty odd years ago.
