John Cale Records Song For 1st Anniversary Of Lou Reed’s Death

A year on from the death of grumpy genius Lou Reed, and his former musical partner John Cale has recorded a suitably Velvet Underground-esque song dedicated to the late singer. Titled If You Were Still Around, the track features Cale crooning to the memory of Reed over a bed of drones, gospel choirs and slow drag rhythm.
