it’s raining men back in top 40 as anti ukip protest song
The, err, disco classic ‘It’s Raining Men’ by The Weather Girls has come crashing back into the official UK Top 40 on the back of a campaign to get the tune to number 1 in protest at the views of the disgraced, suspended UKIP councillor David Silvester.
In case you somehow missed it, Silvester blamed the recent floods on gay marriage. Yeah, really.
The campaign to get It’s Raining Men to the top spot has been running for a couple of weeks and the track is now in the Top 40, just a few copies outside of getting into the Top 20 in the most recent midweek chart.
To help out, you can buy It’s Raining Men on Itunes here.
Keep up with the campaign over at the facebook page that’s been setup.
