There appears to be no stopping Hotflush this year. A string of vivacious releases including Scubas Triangulation, Mount Kimbies Crooks & Lovers and Sepalcures Love Pressure EP has cemented the imprint amongst the most dynamic indies of 2010. Their latest release from Londoner George Fitzgerald continues the trend. No stranger to visionary garage, Fitzgerald started DJing with the Man Make Music collective whilst at Cambridge. Hes since turned his hand to production with his debut foray Dont You linked with Joy Orbisons Doldrums label.
The Let Down demonstrates Fitzgeralds ernest maturity. Tending patient buildups before introducing sumptuous basslines paired with curious samples, the overall sound complements his progression from the aforementioned debut. Which I rather liked. You can catch George tearing up this Saturday (7th August) for Man Make Musics takeover of the Star of Bethnal Green. Not to be missed.
