Gaika shares new video from his collaborative EP with NAAFI

Brixton MC GAIKA has shared a new video for his track ‘Kingdom Of Slums’ featuring Lao, taken off his new EP on Mexican label NAAFI.
The release, titled Seguridad, was recorded whilst GAIKA was on tour in Puerto Escondido and features collaborations with several NAAFI family members including Zutzut, TAYHANA, Wasted Fates, OMAAR, Lechuga Zafiro and of course, Lao. Never one to be boxed in, GAIKA shapeshifts across Dancehall, Trap, Grime and deconstructed club scapes, further evolving his dark, magnetic sound.
Coining the term ‘ghetto-futurism’ to avoid enivitable categorisation and as a means to build on afro-futurism to make art steeped in blackness that “harks back”, GAIKIA explains: “‘Ghetto’ isn’t just to do with black people, but it’s all the people who live under the boot, the 99%, and how we end up reveling in what other people deem the shadow.”
