Douze Doxology EP

3 tracks of unashamed cheese grinning nostalgic French house from this 23 year old Paris based producer. This is the kind of stuff that the chaps across the channel do so well, big disco licks, vocoder vox and epic washes of passionate chords bundling together without ever overwhelming one another. Theres a nod to Prince here, an Alan Braxe style swell there, a slap bass moment or two and the occasional cheeky squiggle of acid. We Got The Love takes the honours with its distillation of rare groove and grand sense of space. The kick drums a mere feather whisp for the opening minute or so, til the main funk drops, the over blown vocals shimmy up and the summertime seems that little bit closer. Promising work.
