Drexciya’s Gerald Donald & To-Nhan will feature on the German label with a new EP.

Dopplereffekt have announced their first release on longstanding German record label Tresor of which boasts a firm legacy connected to Detroit. Doppelereffekt is the duo best known to be made up Drexciya’s Gerald Donald & To-Nhan.

The ‘Metasymmetry’ EP is due out on December 12th and aligns with three decades of the project which remains one of the most crucial and definitive in underground electro and techno.

‘Intended to be a “total work of art” of abstract science and techno-politics, Dopplereffekt’s titles and music draw from theoretical physics. Philosopher Yuk Hui defines cosmotechnics as the reconciliation of technology and world, of the planetary and the local. The duo’s practice does not aestheticise machines; it asks how a machine might think cosmologically.’

The new record features four tracks and finds itself at home amidst a sprawling back catalogue of material which cements Tresor Records as one of the most definitive in the space.
