DJ Tennis & Red Axes collaborate on new album

“The aim was to find a kind of Italian-Israeli connection in our musical approach. So the album journeys from psychedelic Italo disco, to Israeli trance rock, with a lot of rave elements. We call it falafel disco mixed with 1/4 of spaghetti sauce."

The new outfit is called Redrago and a self titled LP will be released on Life and Death Records later this year. Dj Tennis and Red Axes first met at a festival in Corsica and they formed a close bond.

“Their faces, their expressions and their attitude – gentle, smart, loving and funny – impressed me at first sight" says label boss Tennis.

The music which makes up the first album is a mixture of psychedelic influences, kraut, Mediterranean soundscapes and electronica - the tracks were produced around a year ago across the course of a week in a studio on top of a decadent old shopping mall in the centre of Tel Aviv.

Red Axes describe the resulting album as follows:

“The aim was to find a kind of Italian-Israeli connection in our musical approach. So the album journeys from psychedelic Italo disco, to Israeli trance rock, with a lot of rave elements. We call it falafel disco mixed with 1/4 of spaghetti sauce."
