Desire Reissue Classic OTO and Candidate Albums

desire have announced plans to reissue records from post-punk French cult bands OTO and Candidate next month. Nancy, East France, has been the host to a number of musical talents throughout the years and these two 80s exports are no exception.

While the bands are no longer together the members all live on and are happily backing these reissues.This relaunch will see OTO’s debut single ‘Anyway‘, complete with B-sides ‘Bats‘ and ‘Bad Boy‘, along with their one and only album Purge An Urge reissued for the first time in 30 and 28 years respectively.

The reissue from Candidate is of the band’s 1987 LP Side By Side; this new version having been remastered by Anders Post. Having emerged slightly later than OTO, Candidate went on to perform well over 100 gigs throughout their lifespan and toured across Western Europe.
