dennis rodman in north korean outburst

Surely one of the stranger couplings of our time – Dennis Rodman and his unofficial role of ambassador to North Korea – took another turn for the weird last night as Rodman gave a deranged TV interview in which he criticized imprisoned US missionary Kenneth Bae (jailed in 2012 for ‘crimes against the state’ but widely believed to be locked up for simply being a Christian). He later retracted the comments, saying he had ‘been drinking’.
Over in North Korea to apparently celebrate Kim Jong Un’s birthday, it’s unclear exactly what Rodman’s motives are in his courting of North Korea, but, whatever they may be, the impression increases that the relationship will end in tears (or worse).
