Busy Signal
So last year Busy released a track called De Style Deh that was on permanent rotation in Chateau McQuaid. It was a fusion of chanted, soaring, mayhem birthing dancehall and booming African beats, and now Busys back with producers Coppershot for another crack. Jafrican Ting has got so much going for it, from the low low 808 booms and wicked percussion to the sweet female vocals and Busys resonant voice. Theres a restraint in delivery that holds the track back making you crave more and more, and a sparseness to the sound that is immensely appealing to these ears. I think this is going to signal a new trend in African influenced dancehall, and I look forward to hearing more.
