An assortment of producers have been invited to contribute to a reissue package which has been announced almost in line with today's Halloween celebrations. FLEE has announced the project which will see them re-release rare "captures of original field recordings from musicians/exorcists registered by Diego Carpitella, Ernesto de Martino and Alan Lomax in the late 1950’s in Puglia". The release will be available next month and also features six reconstructed pieces from modern day producers including Bjorn Torske & Trym Søvdsnes, LNS, UFFE, KMRU, Bottin, and Don’t DJ.

The release and ritual is described as follows:

"Dedicated to Tarentism, this project tells the story of a centuries-old choreo-musical ritual from Southern Italy, mobilizing frenetic rhythms and maniac dances, designed to exorcise women from a mysterious evil caused by the bite of a spider.

With nine essays focusing on various dimensions of the ritual, this bilingual publication gives the voice to witnesses, experts or actors of the history of this music exorcism and contains the contributions and exclusive photographs of: Chiara Samugheo, Edoardo Winspeare, Claudia Attimonelli, Pamela Diamante, Luigi Chiriatti, Salvatore Bevilacqua, Gino Di Mitri and Mattia Zappellaro.

The release comprises a double LP vinyl compilation and a hardcover silkscreen printed Italian/English book."
