Chinese New Year is a colourful, vibrant affair – this weekend’s celebrations across the globe ushered in the new year, The Year of the Horse. During the BBC‘s coverage of the festivities, the subtitle team made a slight blunder, welcoming in the ‘Year of the Whores’.

Easy mistake to make. Could happen to anyone. Always seems to happen to the BBC subtitle team though. Previous boobs have included referring to the Archbishop of Canterbury as the ‘Arch Bitch’ and the Queen Mother calling for a ‘moment’s violence’.
