Arthur Russell’s ‘Instrumentals’ To Be Reissued On Vinyl

Music

The late Arthur Russell's work 'Instrumentals' has been scheduled for a reissue on Audika Records. Recorded back in 1974, the piece will be accompanied by other rare recordings forming a double-vinyl package due out in February 2017.

Audika Records are known for their devoted, scholarly, and painstaking committment to archival music. This material, which was unearthed from Russell's apartment back in 2006, perfectly demonstrates that commitment. The discovery added another dimension to the work of Russell who until then, had been known mostly for his production on 70s disco singles.

A 12-page booklet with liner notes from Russell, former bandmate Ernie Brooks as well as London writer and journalist Tim Lawrence, will also be included in the double-vinyl pack.

You can hear 'Reach One' below.
