Altern-8 in the hunt for x-mas number 1

They definitely wouldn’t have been many people’s first guess at challengers for the Christmas number 1 spot but 90s techno duo Altern-8 have been the subject of a Facebook campaign that’s rapidly gaining interest.

The fan started page has already accrued over 20,000 likes and has even resulted in the pair’s original label, Network Records, coming out of retirement. A number of remixes of their track ‘Activ-8 (Come With Me)’ have been promised to appear on the group’s Soundcloud in the coming weeks. Remixes by Tommie Sunshine & Gosteffects, Xen Mantra, Rocket Pimp, Shadow Dancer, DJ Phantasy, Lucius Project, AGT Rave Cru and Billy Daniel Bunter & King Yoofto have already been commissioned. 

It’s been 22 years since the original single reverberated in listener’s ears so the song might have to find a new audience to keep the momentum going. Still, it’s good to see some real music coming up against the pop nonsense in the battle for the number one spot in the charts this Christmas.
