Read on as we delve into their world and fill your ears with these exquisite sounds;

Please introduce yourself…
Who are you?

We are SINCHI.

Where are you?

We collaborate from all over, some of those places currently include Amsterdam, UK & the USA.

What are you?

A collection of lovely misfits with ideas above our stations.

Describe your sound without using the letter 'e'.

In constant flux.

What would your sound look like if it were a visual thing?

The aim is to emulate a few moments of disconnect , so whatever that represents for each individual that's where we are aiming to reside.

7 inch or 12 inch?

10” Acetate (Dubplate) it's the smell.

What's your greatest sin?

TBC.

What one piece of software or hardware could you not make music without?

Midi – Dave Smith and Chet Wood – thank you!

What was the first electronic record you ever heard? How did it make you feel?

Magic Fly – Space – Made me feel there was another way to communicate with sound that wasn't like other things I'd heard.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Living a lie.

What was the music of your teenage rebellion?

There was no teenage rebellion, just a quiet surge which is still gathering pace!

What do you do on Sundays?

Try and be thankful  – try not to regret.

What is the meaning of life?

Life itself is the meaning.

Which figure from throughout history would you most like to meet and what would you ask them if you had only one question?

Possibly Nikola Tesla  – Tell me more…

What do you think the world will be like in 100 years?

What we consider work today will be largely carried out by automatons, we will be divided amongst machine enhanced symbiants and die hard old world real flesh humans. There will be multiple realities of existance but the human traits will still linger on.

What’s your greatest vice?

Prevarication.

If you had to send one record into space, to introduce extra terrestrials to human music, what record would you choose?

Not sure which track but most likely something by Drexciya  – I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Onto the mix…

Where was the mix recorded?

The inputs came from all of us – the glueing together was done in the industrial suburbs of Birmingham, England under minimal light and in the cold English Summer.

What would be the ideal setting to listen to the mix?

In Darkness with or without friends – smoke and strobe optional.

What should we be wearing?

As little as is acceptable

What would be your dream setting to record a mix: Location/system/format?

That moment before waking direct from Brain to hard Drive.

Which track in the mix is your current favourite?

Moscoman – Dévoué (Manfredas Remix)

What’s your favourite recorded mix of all time?

There are some tapes I have from Sabresonic at Happy Jax from a while back – those were special times.

If you could go back to back with any DJ from throughout history, who would it be and why?

Andrew Weatherall circa '92 when he looked and sounded like no one else on that scene at the time

What was your first DJ set up at home and what is it now?

2 turntables and a microphone, now it's one computer and a hard drive.

What’s more important, the track you start on or the track you end on?

The Start is always the most difficult and sets the tone, like when a Fighter enters the ring – if you catch it then you are onto a winner, whilst the last track is important, if you are gunning for the finish, you can miss the ride.

What were the first and last records you bought?

First record was by Schoolly D by Schoolly D, the last was Lies by Il est Vilaine.

If this mix was an edible thing, what would it taste like?

It would taste of warm beer.

If it was an animal what would it be?

It would be an android Wolf

One record in your collection that is impossible to mix into anything?

Some of our tracks are pretty tough – must work on that.

Upcoming in the world of Sinchi?

We've set the Hare running and are holding back the Hounds… For now…

Anything else we need to discuss?

Love – it really is all you need isn't it?
