Night School Records announces “Forever Is A Long Time” festival at Glasgow’s Fairfield Social Club
Glasgow’s beloved Night School Records has announced its first ever festival, and the first wave of names is already a statement of intent.
Dubbed Forever Is A Long Time, the weekend event will take place at Fairfield Social Club in Govan – a fitting choice for a label that’s always felt rooted in community. The venue has deep ties to the area’s shipbuilding past and remains an active social hub today, with three spaces on offer, one dedicated to live music and DJs. Plenty of room to dance, decompress, and find your people.
The initial lineup announcement includes an already impressive lineup of Rose McDowall, Tristwch Y Fenywod, Guttersnipe, Cucina Povera, Amor, Yu Ching, Karl D’Silva and Free Love – a cross-section of artists from across the label’s history, and a pretty ideal distillation of everything Night School has stood for over the years.
More names are still to come. For now, cheaper weekend passes are on sale for early movers, with individual day tickets following later.
The festival’s name is a tribute to Stevie of Mope Grooves, a label comrade, and the announcement closes with a message of solidarity with trans communities.
Label founder Michael’s note to fans reads with characteristic warmth: “I really hope to see you there and thank every single person who’s ever bought anything, said a nice thing, been to a show or shown up in anyway to support the label and each other.”
