Dragon Boat Festival 2014
With quite possibly the coolest name of any event happening this summer, Dragon Boat Festival takes to the seas (well, the Thames) on Sunday 29th June. Casting off from the London Regatta Centre, the annual event has grown to become a significant date in London’s cultural summer calendar, attracting visitors from across the UK and overseas.
There are 4 prestigious cups up for grabs on the day along with a wealth of family friendly activities including a food festival offering the flavours of Eastern Asia, live music with 2 East West Festival stages organised by City Showcase, martial arts displays and traditional Chinese lion dancing.
The event is completely free to attend and is organised by London Chinatown Lions Club as a fund-raising event with all net proceeds donated to nominated charities supported by the club.
So why not head down to Dragon Boat Festival and do some good while bathing yourself in a day full of exciting and intriguing events? It's free, what more could you ask for?
