You know when the summer is over when the last of the festivals such as Bestival are held, lets not fool ourselves here, the weather since June has been mainly glorious and with no hosepipe bans either.

So we British lot, we like our pleasures simple, sunshine, yes, beer, yes, big fans, and festivals, yeah love a fest. How about putting all three together in a big sunny, beery, festy kind of thing, throw in some live jazz and DJ Dan Spinney playing nu-eighties freakbeat and bass and a bunch of exotic foods from Asia & Austria and weve got a party on our hands.

This weekend, The Brewhouse in London Fields plays host to the final of The British Craft Beer Challenge. UK beers are up against Canada, Hawaii, Norway, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Spain. Lets face it, there is a Bonny Tyler at Eurovision style drubbing here with the Germans inevitably coming up trumps especially with names like Pschoorr Hefe Weiss but lets ditch the xenophobia here and concentrate on testing as many of these lovely tall glassed beauties as possible in the name of beers from around the world research, eh?
