World Premiere Of The Earthworks Installation At Sónar Barcelona

Art and science combine in a large immersive video installation from British studio Semiconductor which will premiere at Sonar. The piece consists of 5 x 5.5 metre screens, placed in zig-zag form, on which detailed animated graphics representing the Earth’s strata surrounding PLANTA (based in Balaguer, Lleida) will be projected. 'Earthworks' graphics will be triggered by seismic data from the sounds of earthquakes, volcanoes and glaciers. Previously, Semiconductor (British artists Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt) have taken up residencies in scientific research centres including NASA, CERN and the Smithsonian Institute’s Natural History Museum.
SonarPlanta is part of Sonar +D 2016 and takes place in Barcelona on 16-18 June 2016. For more info look HERE.
